Total vertically integrated transports of water vapor estimated by the reanalyses agree in their broad features. In general, the ECMWF reanalyses show a more vigorous transport of moisture towards southeast Asia both through the northern Arabian Sea, and the southern Bay of Bengal. Below the vector plots, quantitative estimates of water vapor fluxes across key boundaries in the Indian Ocean basin from ECMWF and NCEP/NCAR are given.
