Though broad features of the precipitation distribution are consistently represented in various retrievals, there exists considerable disagreement (up to 100%) in the absolute values of rainfall they report. Here disagreement between multi-satellite (a) and GPI (b) retrievals from the GPCP dataset is shown. [Convergence derived from ECMWF moisture transports supports the multi-satellite product over GPI in most of the monsoon environment.]
