Boundary transports show an anomalous influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean in both hemispheres. Anomalies in the monsoon gyre are small.

Also, the above graph shows the difference in anomalies as depicted by ECMWF and NCEP/NCAR (% differences below). The largest anomalies are depicted consistently to within 20%.
