Residency and Tuition ClassificationTuition classification determines if students should have in-state or out-of-state tuition. Your initial tuition classification is determined from information you supply on your application for admission to the university. You may file a petition if you wish to contest out-of-state classification status or if you become eligible for in-state status. In brief: In-sate status will be required after one year for all students supported by the department. If you are eligible, you will be required to apply for Colorado resident at the end of your first year. You will receive reminders and more information in March. For information on how to obtain in-state status including regulations, deadlines for applying, and the necessary forms go to the Office of the Registrar web site listed below. http://registrar.colorado.edu/students/tuition_classification.html |
