Deadlines for Doctoral Degree Candidates
If you are planning to graduate with a doctoral degree, be sure to contact the Graduate Program Assistant at the BEGINNING of the term. You will want to make sure that all the necessary paperwork is taken care of as soon as possible.

| Submit to the Graduate School a Candidacy Application for an Advanced Degree. Doctoral students must be officially admitted to candidacy before a final oral examination can be scheduled. |
AT LEAST two weeks before the oral comprehensive examination |

| Submit the Application for Diploma (diploma card) to give notification of your intent to graduate and to order your diploma. Needed whether or not you attend ceremony. | June 2 |
October 6 |
February 16 |
| Submit to Graduate School a typed copy of the exact Title of Dissertation. This title will appear in the commencement program and on your transcript. | June 16 |
October 20 |
March 9 |
| Last day for final oral exam in defense of dissertation. Graduate School must have written notification of final examination and thesis committee two weeks prior to exam. This information should be provided on the Doctoral Examination Report. | July 11 |
November 26 |
April 10 |
| Submit final copy of dissertation to Graduate School. Thesis must be complete and in final form. Students whose dissertations are received after deadline will graduate at the following commencement. | July 18 |
December 3 |
April 17 |
| Have grade changes submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous semesters. | July 21 |
